IN SERVICE OF HUMANITY

The quest to provide the best and most affordable diagnostic services to people inspired Amrit Pal Singh to establish Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Diagnostic Centre in Chandigarh. Named after the 7th Sikh Guru, Guru Har Rai Sahib, this diagnostic centre operates on the values of service to humanity.

With a deep zeal for serving people, he conceived the idea of establishing Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Diagnostic Centre, which not only offers some of the best diagnostic facilities but is also cost-effective and affordable for all.

The Idea of Inception

Diseases and illnesses are an inevitable part of human life. From time to time, due to various factors, people fall sick and require medical assistance. In most cases, it becomes essential to seek specialized help from medical practitioners. Pathologists and diagnostic centres play an integral role in identifying illnesses. Therefore, the authenticity, credibility, and quality of services offered by a diagnostic centre must be nothing short of the best. The quest for excellence motivated Amrit Pal Singh to establish Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Diagnostic Centre in Chandigarh. Named after the 7th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib, who was known for his compassion and commitment to service, this centre is deeply rooted in the values of service to humanity. With the same approach as Guru Sahib, it focuses on providing care and support regardless of religious or political differences, exemplified by the Guru's historic treatment of Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, using Ayurvedic medicines when he was gravely ill. In 2006, Singh began this journey by opening a small blood testing laboratory. Gradually, as the lab gained popularity in the city for its accurate results and affordable services, the demand from patients led to the installation of an X-ray machines—a significant milestone for the centre. Following this success, an ultrasound facility was also introduced, and now the centre operates with five ultrasound centres and six machines across Chandigarh, Mohali, Zirakpur and Kharar.

Founder's Reflection

“It gives me immense satisfaction when someone comes and blesses me for providing them with the best facilities at reasonable rates. That is a huge reward for me.”

A Visionary Leader

A great vision is born from compassion, perseverance, and the will to serve humanity. The diagnostic centre was founded with a clear purpose — to make quality and affordable healthcare accessible to all. With years of experience in medical laboratory testing and a deep understanding of patients’ needs, the founder envisioned a centre where advanced technology and ethical practices come together under one roof. The journey was not easy. Starting without financial backing or family support required immense courage and conviction. Yet, determination and faith transformed challenges into milestones. Support from the community and the local Gurdwara Sahib played a crucial role in establishing the first lab, turning a dream into reality. Today, the centre stands as a symbol of dedication, integrity, and compassion — offering accurate, affordable, and patient-focused diagnostic care to everyone in need.
